PLAINVILLE - The Plainville Community Food Pantry's vegetable garden will provide a variety of healthy options to clients this year, thanks in-part to donated topsoil from Quantum Biopower and fencing from Eagle Fence & Guardrail.

Susie Woerz, executive director at the Plainville Community Food Pantry at 54 S. Canal St., said the garden was first started last year. Her son, Assistant Director Justin Woerz, and volunteer gardener Todd Bradley helped to bring the idea to fruition.

However, last year, local wildlife including raccoons and rabbits got into the garden and decreased the amount of food that could be harvested for clients.
